Vision and Philosophy
The Prachya Parampara Pratishtana Trust is a registered not for profit organization started on 24th September 2018 with a vision to conserve and promote indigeneous knowledge and practises in the field of agriculture and various art forms based on ancient Indian knowledge systems with a specific emphasis on Vedic traditions.
The trust was given its name by none other than His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Vishwesha Teertha of Udupi Pejavara Mutt in the month of June 2018. He blessed the founding trustees with his guidence on the vision of the trust.
Indian Vedic system proclaims that a human being has five important duties (Yajna) to perform. Two of them relate to a individual's spiritual upliftment where as the other three are duties towards the earth, environment and the society around him.
To elaborate : krishna yajurveda aranyaka proclaims
The first two are inward focused : Deva Yajna (यद॒ग्नौ जु॒हॊत्य॒पि स॒मिधम्॒ तद्दॆ॑वय॒ज्ञस्सन्ति॑ष्ठतॆ॒ ) and Pitr Yajna (यत्पि॒तृभ्य॑स्स्व॒धाक॒रॊत्यप्य॒पस्तत्पि॑तृय॒ज्ञस्सन्ति॑ष्ठतॆ).
The other three are
Bhoota Yajna which covers Air, Water, Earth and Environment
Manushya Yajna which works towards upliftment of society
Brahma Yajna which stipulates learning and transmission of knowledge
Vision of the trust is founded on the basis of the afore mentioned principles.
Mission
We seek to work with local communities promoting permaculture and natural farming methodologies over chemical farming and other harmful practises that have degenerated the ecosystem in the last few decades. To enable this, we continue to develop a model farm with the intent to use it as a practical example through which our farmers can benefit from forgotten farming techniques being followed in the farm.
As part of vision to conserve ancient indian tradtions (including but not limited to Vedic traditions), we handpick scholars through a rigourous shortlisting process involving accomplished luminnairies in their respective fields and promoting research and learning by means of honourariums, scholerships and research facilities.
We have created and continue to compile a vast collection of rare manuscripts and books (many of which are out of print) on varied subjects such as art, architecture, medicine, agriculture and astronomy etc details of which are available in the Library.
